Praise Report & Good Lesson for All
It looks like everything is going to work out with our house!! I praise God for that … it was all Him. A quick history: We went to the closing table last Thursday and found out that there was a problem with the title to the house. To make a long story short, the current owners of the house are the 3rd owners. When the first owners sold it to the second owners in 1984, the closing attorney neglected to fill the deed out correctly. It was recorded at the Register of Deeds and nothing was ever done to correct it. Fast forward 23 years … the mistake was found and it prevented us from closing on the house as scheduled. Jason and I were upset and felt defeated. We were forced to sit back and be patient and wait on the original closing attorney to locate the original owner of the house. I prayed constantly over the weekend. I asked God to take my anxiousness away from me and handle it. I knew that in my hands, the results could be disastrous. I prayed that God would take it all and do with it as He saw fit and I told Him that I wouldn’t question the end result, no matter what that may be. I know that God was trying to get my attention to remind me that He is still in control. Through the entire process, I kept telling people about this house we were buying and not once did I give God the glory He deserves. In my mind, I picture him sitting up in Heaven saying, “You THINK you’re getting a new house today but I’ve got something else in mind. You are going to turn your eyes to Me before I let that happen.” So, I did. Lo and behold, as soon as I’d let go of the worry about the house, He set the wheels in motion. Jason took to the internet last night and after and hour of searching, he found the original owner of the house. After speaking with her, they learned that they work together at the bank!!! God is good! The lesson here: God is going to get the glory He so righteously deserves. All it took was a little faith (and prayer) on my part and He allowed everything to happen. I praise Him for that. I was also able to point it out to Jason last night. I asked him if he saw the absolute Divine intervention in all of it and I explained to him my prayers over the weekend. It provided a wonderful witness opportunity. Hopefully we’ll be able to close this week and get everything moved … just in time for Austin to start school!!! <>< Cayce Burwell <><
