UPDATE 8/2/2007 <><
Dad went back to the Dr.(s) today. The cancer specialist said his blood count was low and if it got any lower she was going to put him in the hospital for blood transfusions. Also the medication the VA gave him for the hurting in his stomach doesn't do well with the chemo he's taking. So he can't take that. She gave him med for stomach. ( I don't like the VA one bit) She said there was some change in the sound of his lungs and not good. Gave him something to take to help him eat. He won't eat or drink anything. Then we went to the Lung Specialist because Dad said he did something to his throat when he did the scope and now he can't talk. Dr Green said his vocal chords was paralyzed. So he sent him to a Throat Specialist. Dr. Tran said the LymphNobes is pressing against his vocal chords. If it gets bigger he won't be able to talk at all. If these pills work then he will get his voice back. He's talking in a whisper now and fusses because he can't talk. He goes back to the Cancer Dr next Thurs. Will keep you posted. Keep us in prayer. We need it. <>< Love ya, Linda Williams <><
UPDATE 7/24/2007 <><
Dad is now taking Chemo-pills twice a day. This is a new drug and there are a lot of side effects like a rash on his hands and feet and blistering rashes on his body along with the regular side effects. He started the pills on July 19th. He has to go every week and have blood work done and see the cancer specialist. So far, he feels good. He sleeps a lot but I think that's the pills. This drug stops the glueclouse from going to the mass so it won't grown. He won't get better only with prayer but this will prolong him some. The mass is in the kidney and the cancer has spread to the lungs. The tests show that the cancer has not gotten to his bones or brain. Praise the Lord on that. Please keep him in prayer and that he will turn his life over to God. <><
UPDATE 6/12/2007 <><
Dad went to the cancer specialist today. His white cell count was low. The Dr. said there is evidence of a slight kidney failure. He's having a bone test done this Friday and a MRI of the brain the 22nd to see if the cancer has gotten in these areas. The Dr said we may be dealing with two difference cancers (kidney & lung) and if so and it's treatable it will have to be done with two different treatments. He has lost more weight also. The Dr will know more after these tests on treatments or not. He talks to mom real hateful and her nerves are getting bad. We asked the Dr about that and was told that was part of the territory and nothing could be done about it. Told mom to go talk to her Dr to see if he could give her something. Don't need her upset and then her heart act up. I'm trying to do what I can plus work and keep up the house, laundry, shopping and finances. Not enough time or me to go around. Please pray for all of us. <>< God Bless! Linda Williams <><

Dad goes for his Petscan June 9th and to the cancer specialist the 12th. We'll see then what can be done. I have a friend that works in Radiology in Abington, VA.She said a Petscan is a study done on cancer patients before treatment to determine lymph node spread disease. It will be repeated at 3 months, 6 months, etc during treatment. The patient is injected with an agent called FDG and it is absorbed by malignant cancer cells. She's sure they will do many imaging studies during the course of his treatment. Dad is really beginning too look really bad and we've notice he can't keep his balance very well. Please pray for our family. Will keep you posted. <>< Thanks for your prayers. God Bless - Love each and every one of you! ---Linda Williams <><
